The Iron Dragon's Word-Hoard (Part II)

I have fallen behind on this blog more than ever before.  Mea culpa. I have been so deeply involved writing The Iron Dragon's Mother that I simply have not had the mental energy to post here. I'll try -- honest! -- to do better.

Meanwhile, just to give you an idea of how the novel is going, here's the list I'm keeping of proper nouns, odd words, and non-standard usages in the text. There are a couple of spoilers hidden in it, but it would take a sharp eye to spot them. And it's subject to change. I doubt Samgrass will retain his name into the final version, though I may give it to somebody else.

To give you some idea of how it's going, you can view a previous version of this list which I posted last September here.

I like the sound of the Industrial Revalation - it calls to mind Rachel Pollack's _Unquenchable Fire_. Looking forward to the book.

I am a fan of Château Sans Merci. Would the 'American' translation be Hotel No Thanks?
Been waiting for this book for some time and am quite looking forward to getting my mitts on it. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to start a band called Hotel No Thanks.

Michael -
Would you like to write a story for the next MIT TWELVE TOMORROWS science fiction issue?
Pay would be $5,000, since we’re looking for approximately 5,000 words at $1 per word.
I know you've got your head down on your next novel and need to stay with that. That said, when I was asked to take a hand in editing this one, the first author I said I wanted to get a story from was you. Delany is already onboard for this issue’s interview (the last one we did was Gene Wolfe, which you liked), so you’ll be in good company there.

I've left my MIT email address via your 'contact' page on your main site and my gmail here, too, I guess.

Hi, Michael --

Hope you're beavering away on the novel. Just to reiterate: I'd love to hear from you yea or nay at the earliest opportunity and this isn't a jape. I'll route you to contacts at MIT to confirm that that, if you like.

Thanks.
